KoRn Koncert Reviews

Above is Coby Dick of Papa Roach, throwing out another sick rap. The picture to the right is Spider One and Dorian 27 going at it. Below is Jonathan Davis during Fagget throwing out the old "You can suck my dick and fucking like it" lyric. These pictures were taken July 22nd by Brett. Special thanks to me for the smuggle in.

Here's an old review -Madison, WI 3/11/00(was cancelled to a different date) Ok here is how my lovely day of KoRn went down. I don't know if you care or not, but I'm telling everything. So enjoy: Being excited and all I kept waking up during the morning, also the phone calls didn't help either. But I finally got up around 10:15 and waited around. AT about 12:45, I put a bunch of shit in my hair and made small little dreads. Looked ok, and looked like shit, whatever. Most people came early to my house so we could have left before 2 but we were still waiting for one car to come. Finally they came and we started down to Korn, all 14 of us at this point. WE drove behind one car because they didn't know where to go and then Brandon drove ahead of them to show where to go. sitting in the back of a 2-door Cavelier with 3 people in the back sort of sucks. But it wasn't all that bad. But for the two hour drive to Madison I wasn't looking forward to it. But it didn't seem to take to long. WE had 2 walkie talkies in me and Brandons car and we chatted. We had to go to the East Town Mall in Madison to meet up with another cousin and his 3 friends. We got there right at 4 like we told them to meet us, but they weren't there yet. So we went to the bathroom and then went and found a place we wanted to eat. Most people grabbed something from Arbies. Arbies is me and my bros traditional before a concert meal. :)hehe. As we were waiting in line the cousin came so now we had all 18 people. He said he was waiting for someone until 5:30 so we walked around the mall for awhile. While we were eating I spotted out this hot hot chick. She was so cute, but probably in her 20's. NExt thing I knew the whole table was looking at her. She looked over and we alllooked away except for my buddy Joe. He kept staring. Then she sat down. And my dumb friend joe actually walked over to her and sat down and started to talk to her. He found out that she ahd a boyfriend in the music store. He asked her to slap him so that we would all laugh, but she didn't. I can't believe how he went over there, it was so funny. Ok back to the shopping. I finally found a blue pair of Pumas so I bought them. I think they kick ass..I didn't wear them to the show cause I had a green shirt on and that would have clashed :)hehe. But anyways..we finally left after 5:30 because the friend decided to just go to the concert on his own. Getting to the Venue was easy...seemed like we were just there. We were all able to park near each other. My cousins friend was part of a scam though. He bought a $15 shirt from a guy and when the guy took the money and gave him the shirt, another guy came around and took the shirt from him. What a bunch of shit. If we would have all seen this happen, we would of easily gotten the shirt back and kicked those guys ass. I mean 18 agains 2..no prob. We got in line then right behind a bunch of other people from school. I was so glad it was actually warm out and was very comfy to stand outsided. Then it started to sprinkle...but nothing horrible. Me and a cousin and Scott walked around part of the outside of the Colesium looking for the tour bus, but all we saw was the shitloads of semis for the equipment. I think the tour buses go under an overlay and are guarded so we went back in line cause they were letting us in already. Finally we were back inside. It was great to be in there. Well I gotta go to track practice:) he he, so I'll finish this tonight. Bye bye for now Ok back. Like I said, it's so cool to go inside the DAne...it's just such an experience. We went inside the arena. It's so cool inside there. They had extra lights this time, and the stage was all curtained up. They ahve like 40 speakers at least hanging in the air on each side. It's awesome. WEgot some seats pretty close and then a few of us went off and bought shirts. I bought a Korn tour shirt and a Staind tour shirt. SOme of you's will get to see it, some won't. Then I went back and sat down and others went and got shirts. When they got back...a band opened up, They were called Mindless SElf Indulgence. They were starting before the actual show and while people were still coming in. THey weren't part of the real line up. Man did they suck. They got boo'd off. The guy was in all red and was a big fag. He striped down to just about nothing, and then they finally left. I went to the bathroom while they were on, and me and a guy were pissing and making fun of them. Yeah..usually guys don't say a word while peeing but we were having a blast. THen it was about 15 minutes before the curtain opened again. This time it was Staind. Way fucken cool. The guitar and bass guitar guy really got into it. They were pretty cool they were dressed in matching out fits. Aaron the lead singer is awesome. He can sing good and the stereo system was great too. Not too loud and sounded clear. I don't know how the hell he can scream that low of a tone...that must hurt so bad. THe bad thing was they didn't really have a set, just a back drop. But the drop was cool. they opened with Raw..then played like 7 or 8 other songs. They weren't on very long, but they only have one album so what can you expect. Aaron would walk from each side of the stage...then he would go over on the walk way that went off to the side and out from the stage a little. The crowd would go wild during this. He always holds the mic by his mouth and his other hand by his heart...and he's always bent over and shuffles around..it's pretty cool. THe moshing for them was rough looking. I was glad I wasn't in it. It looks so cool from above just watching the mosh happen. Then the lights went out. I knew it had to be mudshovel. The lights came back on and Aaron was in the crowd now singing. That was cool. People were all trying to touch him and guards were throwing people away. That song ruled, but it took the attention away from the other bandmemebers because he was in the crowd. Someone threw a piece of paper at him and he grabbed it and shoved it in his back pocket..that was cool. Unfortunatly the song finished and the lights went out and he was gone from the crowd and the curtain shut. Now the lights came back on and the big screen rolled back down and SPike came on talking about the Spike and Mike Sick and Twisted Animation Festivel. Then he started to drink Jack and started to shoot Teletubbies with his shotgun, that was cool. Then the cartoons started. The first one was called "The First SouthPark" It was sort of funny, but we couldn't hear it very well for some reason. Plus Cartman was Kenny and he got killed by the giant evil snowman. Then Jesus killed the snowman with his hailow..it wasn't that funny. Their was this one with this little bird that kept mooning a cat in a tree. The cat would beat the crap out of the bird but the bird would return..it was sort of funny. Their was this one about a GRandpa. It showed Grandpa doing different things. One showed him using his prescription drug (Pot). Speakign of pot, I couldn't smell much of it, but it was there:) It also showed grandpa relaxing during the summer, and his balls were hanging out of his shorts:). They also showed him warming the pool up, by pissing in the pool. That cartoon was ok. Then their was a cartoon that showed this guy doing all this sick stuff to his body. Like he gave himself a big papercut between his fingers. He crushed his teeth with a hammer, and other weird things. Another cartoon was about Santa going crazy. He was screwing all these girl elves, and shooting elves and deer and stuff. It was pretty sweet. Ok ok, I'll only talk about one more cartoon. Then the best cartoon was the one with the humping dog. He started by licking himself and then he got to his balls and got all excited. So he started to hump something on the floor. Then the owner took him off and then the dog started to hump him. The kept throwing the dog off of things but he would keep humping stuff. Then he landed on this chick doll and started to hump it and lick the crotch of the doll. It was funny. Then the doorbell rang and the dog was humping the family friend, and the owner took him off and the dog humped his leg and the guy tried to scrape him off with his foot but the dog screwd his foot then. That was sweet. Then the dog finished by humping the cooked turkey:) but enough about the cartoons huh. AFter the cartoons finished they turned on the live camera and turned the lights up. The camera surfed the crowd and got the ladies to flash it. Someting that always happens at a rock concert. huh. But the screen was hard to see and it wasn't really cool or anything. Limps flash show was better:) Lots of the ladies just left their shirts and stuff off for Korn cause well..it was hot. But a few groups of girls would start to make out too. but that was all for the show cause they only would do it when the camera was on them. But finally the people got restless and sick of the flashing. Then the screen went back up. The lights started to dim...and.... The entire crowd was now and their feets screeming as loud as they could. Then the intro started, "Dead". The crowd was giong nuts...everyone was like "holy shit, it's time..their gonna be out there in a second". The black curtain was still closed but they were singing and playing their instraments. Then "dead" ended. Crowd was still going crazy. Then the black curtain opened showing another curtain, but this one was red and went around like a circle around the band and was allt he way up to the ceiling. Then we could hear "FAFM" starting. It was so wild and sick. The intro to that song was dragged out some more then the real song is. But all of a sudden it was at the hard part of the song. Wham the curtain dropped and their they were jumping up and down crouched down headbanging and stuff. The fucken crowd was wild as shit. FLying all around and stuff. A few of my cousins had run down to the mosh pit right as the show started. Crazy bastards. Jonathan was wearing this long cloak. The new drummer was shirtless....and I couldn't really see him cause a cymbal was in my way. David the real drummer was sitting on one of the drums steps wearing a kahki hat and like jeans and a t=shirt or something. That was cool that he was there. Head one of the guitar guys was dressed in a normal cool outfit of his. Fieldy the bassist was wearing long shorts and a white wifebeater. Monkey the other guitarist was wearing of his kick ass mechanic jumpsuits. It was white with black or black with white, i can't remember. But Falling Away From Me (FAFM) was so cool. they had like waist high flames all around the stage going from these gothic looking things. It was sweet. Davis stompped around screaming the song. It was so damn sweet. Well I can't remember the order of the songs exactly, but they pretty much played one song after another. Everytime Jonathan would walk over on the walkway towards us, everyones hands would go up and we'd all scream and stuff. Ball Tounge was one of my favorite songs live. I love how head screams "Ball Tongue" and how Jonathan does the gibberish and stuff. The cloak jonathan was wearing was pretty cool. but I was looking forward to the kilt. Well I guess I don't have to tell you everything that happened and every song they did. So I'll jump around. AFter awhile I noticed a little baby walking around near the drums wearing big head phones. It might have been David or Jonathans kid. Their was also what looked like 2 of the wives from the band. So that was cool. The kool thing about Korn is how they blend one song right into the next. BUt I was a tad dissapointed that Jonathan never mentioned about the last show being cancelled ubt, whatever. The show was still awesome. Now if I"m repeating shit, sorry but I'm forgeting what I've been saying earlier. After Got the Life and FOAL(Freak on a leash) and some other songs, they turned all the lights off and they walked off the stage. A minute later the screens in back of the drum and stuff turned on and Fieldy was walking around with a mic and stuff. He was talking about how BsB and N'sync have been #1 way too long and it was time to kick those fuckers off of there and put Korn at number 1. Everyone was cheering. Then he walked over to the new drummer and they said a few words. Fieldy was walking around with a drink in his hand and then he started to shout for Jonathan to hurry up. Then he's like "alright gotta go" and the lights went dim again. All of a sudden you could see someone showing up and the lights came back on. Jonathan was now wearing a Black Kilt with yellow strip on the side, a black shirt with yellow strip on the side, black shoes and black knee socks. He was rising from the stage and playing the bag pipes. It was so damn cool. Then it went like 15 above the stage and he was waving the bagpipes around getting the room to go crazy. Then it started to come back down and the other music started. He handed off the pipes to the stage hand and then Monkey and Fieldy and Head all came walking out from the back playing their guitars. This was the intro into Shoots and LAdders. During this song Monkey started to bang on his hip, and I"m like what the hell. He just kept hitting it, then he pulled the guitar over his head, handed it to a guy on the side and walked away, he looked pretty pissed. So now they only had one of the guitar guys and they kept on playing. Monkey's cordless box for his guitar must have busted. Then like a minute or so later he came walking back out with a guitar and playing, it was so fucken sweet ass. Jonathan just went nuts on the Mary had a little lamb part. He was banging his head and jumping in the air and stomping all around, it was so cool looking. One nice thing too, how Fieldy always holds his bass upright and how he slaps the strings instead of plucking. He also marches around the stage a lot, lik ehe would come onto the walk way and stuff..It was so cool. Then at the end of Shoots and Ladders when he shouts "fuck all the bullshit" the crowd just screemed it and then he started the intro to Justin just shouting, "Jump?mp! Come on! Jump! Jump!" It was awesome, then after that he's like "Check this" and went straight into another song..it was so damn sweet how they can just blend it all together. FAggett was another awesome sweetass song. When he shouted "You can suck my dick and fuckin' like it" the crowd went nuts and he had his hand like in his kilt grabbing his balls and screaming. It was so badass. Then when he was saying "I'm just a pretty boy I'm not supposed to fuck a girl" he'd like thrust out his hips like he was banging someone. It was awesom. I had heard rumors that they weren't going to play Kill You but I was so happy when I heard the intro into that. That was the only other time the flames came on. But the lightign for that song was so cool and he gibberished a lot of the words and stuff. THen after that song the lights went out and the curtains shut. Everyone was just chanting Korn, Korn. Someone came out and got the crowd going nuts and then the lights came on and the curtain opened again. This time Jonathan came out alone wearing his red jumpsuit with the black stripe up the side. It was so awesome. And he was singing 4U and pointing to us and shit. It was so awesome. THen he walked over tothe mic stand set the mic in it and held on to the stand and waited while the other guys walked out one at a time as their turn came for the intro to Blind. Holy shit when Davis shouted "ARe You Ready!" and the heavy music started, wow did the crowd go fucken nuts. But I was sad cause I new it was the end of the show. When the song ended it was so sad but I was so glad to see them. Davis ended it by saying "Thank you Madison, we'll see you next time." then he gave one wave and they walked off the stage. Damn they are so fucken cool. JOnathan looked so tired and stuff. I know I'm forgetting such cool stuff, but I think this is enough shit for you's to read. Then we left teh venue and waited for everyone outside. Finally we got all our people and we decided that we'd continue our tradition and go to Denny's WE ended up going the wrong way but were able to get their anyways. Man, the amount of red lights we had to go threw to stay with all 4 cars. It was crazy. WEll to make it short we ate at denny's well some of us did..one car went home. On the way back our car only had 4 instead of 5 so taht was all good. WE didn't get back until about 2:30 or 3, but that didn't matter, Id idn't have school. I'm still on a high here, they are so damn cool to see them live and shit. I'll probaby keep talking about them for weeks. I can't wait until I get to see them a 3rd time. And all you people, keep looking to see if that Summer tour with Korn/Bizkit/rage is gonna be true. That would rule. Well hope you all had fun reading this, I know it's not long enough, but whatever. Hope I didn't forget to much shit. Peace Corey -La Crosse, WI 7/19/00 Holy Shit! What can I say. This was defenitly the best KoRn concert that i had ever been to. This was my 3rd show. My 2nd one on the Sick and Twisted Tour. We got to the venue at about 5:30 and the doors opened at about 6:40 or so. When we finally got inside we decided that we would hit the floor this time for the whole show. Most of us went off to the left side of the stage, while a few in our group went down the right side. After a way too long wait, some local band or something opened at about 7:50. Twenty minutes later than they were supposed to. This band was ok, but no KoRn. We were located about 4-5 rows of people behind the railing and off to the side a little. Finally this band got off of the stage after about 4-5 songs. This venue was a lot smaller then the one that I had saw them at earlier in Madison. Since the venue was so small and the ceiling wasn't very high, the stage was much smaller. You could see all of KoRn's set up and it was a lot smaller then normal. They didn't have the dummies on the chandiler because it was to low, everything was much lower then usual. During the wait for Powerman 5000 to come out, the girls began the flashing show. Quite nice. Finally Powerman came out, faster than I had figured. They started with the intro, that eye is apon you talking. And went into the next song, just like on the album, and just like I had predicted. Damn they were good. The moshing was pretty good but being up in the front you didn't get to move much. We were about the 4-5 row of people for Powerman also. They played all of their great songs and stuff. Man they really put on a great show, I was impressed. Unfortunatly they got off the stage way to fast. Since I had already been to one of the Sick and Twisted shows earlier in the year, I didn't need to watch the cartoons again, plus I had to go to the bathroom really bad and needed some water from the moshing. So me and my bro risked losing our spot to hit the bathrooms and water. When we came back into the arena we were able to get right back into our old spot, even a little closer. So we watched the rest of the cartoons as much as possible, but we were right next to the screen so it was hard to see. Then they ended and the tittie show began. That's always a plus at a concert. The camera men scanning the crowd for those ladies that wanna show some chest. We made it on the screen a few times because of the flashers around us. One of the guys that came with us had made the devil sign right in front of one of the titties, it was so funny...his big hand right on the screen. But anyways, that got old and finally the screen rolled up and we knew that it was finally time for KoRn. The lights all went dim and all you could hear was the cheer from the crowd and the faint sound of "Dead" being played. Just like the last time. This venue had such a low ceiling that the red curtain hiding the band was extremely low. But that didn't matter I guess. Finally "Dead" finished up and they started "Falling Away From Me". I was surprised that nobody was confused by the extended version of the intro into that song. The whole time Jonathan would walk up to the red curtain and hit it out a little bit and then walk back. Finally they started and the curtain was pulled upwards and the crowd went crazy. I didn't know what to expect from the mosh, but I was able to hold my own. Being that close just made me wanna cry. Head was right in front of us and so was Fieldy. I was a little sad that David wasn't drumming but Mike's been doing such a damn good job. We were getting so hot and sweaty from all the screaming and jumping. But after awhile it got so cramped up front that you could bairly move. But everytime Fieldy or Jonathan would walk up on the ledge we'd all raise our hands and just scream and point and stuff. It was so cool cause they'd actually look directly at me because we were about the 2nd row of people by the 3rd or 4th song. During the whole show i was just in awe that we were that close, within 6ft of KoRn. Jonathan had been wearing his normal cloak for the start of the show. Then like usual he left as Munky played a Metallica song for awhile and then Jonathan rose from the stage wearing a black kilt with a silver stripe. When he was wearing the kilt he was so close we could see everything, his biship tattoo his eyebrow piercings..crazy. Then he'd walk over by me and i'd scream at him and raise my hands and he'd look at me and you could see the glimmer in his eyes and everything. I was so happy that this time they played "Counting" and "Dead Bodies Everywhere". That was so badass. Then they left again and came back out. This time he was wearing a black jumpsuit with like sliver crisscrossy stripe up the side. Jonathan came back out and sang "4 U" Which is always cool cause he points and sings it more to us than any other song. Then the whole band came back out and started the intro to "Blind". By this time I wanted to get on the railing with my brother who was a few feet to my right. So I plowed my way threw everybody and got behind him. So he took his elbow and pushed the guy on his left over enough that I could sneek under his arm and get up on the railing. So now i was on only my left foot and standing sideways crushed on the railing. Jonathan worked the crowd a lot more for this song. He was shouting at everyone to shout "are you ready!" and stuff like that. He wanted us to go nuts. Finally everyone screamed "Are you ready". The crowd went crazy, but not nearly as bad as me and my bro. We were just screaming and throwing our arms. Then we saw Head right in front of us near the edge of the stage so we went even more crazy.(we were by far the most crazy on the railing) We were pointing and screaming at him. He pointed at us, then shook his head at us, telling us that we weren't doing it good enough. Then he took his hand off his guitar and with 4 fingers, did the "come on" motion and then started playing guitar. So me and my bro just went crazy, 3X's more than before. Head really liked that. And I couldn't believe that Head actually was communicating with us. It was so sweet. Then Blind ended and Jonathan and the band walked off. This had to be the best concert. Better then the other KoRn shows I"ve been to. Mostly because of how close we were and that the band actually looked at us and pointed at me and stuff. Also I thought Jonathan talked and pumped up the crowd more then usual. I thought Fieldy did a great job jumping off the higher areas and stuff. Powerman 5K rocked better then a lot of bands I've seen. My goal was to touch the railing during the show. I did that plus more then I expected. Now my goal is to finally meet the band. That was the show, the greatest one ever. They played almost all the same songs as the last Sick and Twisted show I had seen in the spring, plus some. I can't wait to get on the railing on Saturday again in Green Bay. Hope my review of that show will be just as happy. Peace ya'll and keep listening to KoRn, kickass band of the world!! -Corey Green Bay, WI 7/22/00 Rough! That's the one word I could use to describe this Korn show in Green Bay. Maybe it seemed a little rough because I was still exhausted from the last show a few days earlier in La Crosse, but I think the crowd was just much bigger, and much more energetic. The day started out by us all eating at Hooters and then getting to the Brown County Expo Center at about 5pm. We had a long wait ahead of ourselves. Also the line was huge by that time already. So we hacked near a busy road for awhile, and then watched a kid try to get highfives from passing cars. It was funny. Finally the line began to move around 6:30 or a little before. Right before we got to the doors I put our camera in the bottom of my shoe and hobbled my way into the show and then took it out. I really hope those pictures turn out. At 7:30 on the head, Papa Roach came out. This was the first time I had gotten to see them. I really liked them, but I didn't care too much for the live show for some reason. I think it was that the moshing was just to intense. It was wild and crazy. People rushing the stage and everything. I think that might have ruined the show slightly. Plus I had two people clinging to me which tired me out so much. I could bairly stand because of that. But P Roach played lots of their good songs. And overall I think Coby Dick did a good job and stuff. I'd give them an 8 out of 10. I liked his attempt to do a flip and just flop on his back and stuff. After we moved back in the crowd to the side and back farther, Powerman 5000 came out. It seemed just like old times seeing them again this week. But just like usual they were so awesome. This time they had a backdrop along with their set. They played all the same songs, and just as good. They also seemed to really be into it today, I think the hard moshing group here was making them more excited. The guitarist kept smiling and stuff. Spyder said that we were a 10 out of 10 for best crowd. He did lots of talking, more then the last time I had seen them. By about half way threw the show, we ended up getting about four rows of people away from the front or so by the end. This mosh was horribly rough too I thought. But I really really like Powerman 5000, a lot more now since I've seen them live. Some of my favorite songs that they did was "Automatic" and "Blast Off". I really really love how Spyder and the rest of the group dresses. I love the goggles and all the straps on his suit. Way cool. I give PM5K a 9.5 out of 10. After PM5K got done, we tried to find our way out to the side and go get some water. Then me and one of my cousins came back down on the floor a ways back from the stage and watched the cartoons again. Then the tittie show began. It started really out really slow. Me and my cousin moved into the middle of the crowd and stopped where it looked like a lot of girls would flash. And a bunch of them did. All of a sudden some girl taps me on my back and asks if she could go up on my shoulders. So of course I wasn't going to deny a flasher her chance to flash on me. So I told her she could, but that i was very tired from moshing and stuff. So with all my energy I got her up on my shoulders. She took her shirt of while on me, but left the bra on. Of course the camera guy never looked over at us for at least five minutes. Finally he did and she flashed, so I got on the screen and so did my cousin. It was cool. She was pretty good looking with nice breasts. But anyways, she got down and me and my cousin started to move our way up to the front. We got way up right by my brother. Finally the show began. Korn came out just as awesome as the last show. I just still couldn't believe that they were right there in front of me. We were once again, in front of Head. During the whole show, we just kept moving our way up, until we were about 2nd group of people before the railing. We were trying to take cool pictures, and the security bouncer guys kept trying to grab it, assholes. But these guys were pretty dorky and small so we would have just punched them anyways. But Korn fuckin ruled. They played all the same songs. Some of the highlights of Korn was the songs, "Counting", "Fagget", "Ball Tongue", and "Blind". It was also really cool when one of the ragdolls from the side of the stage took off and started to float all around. Fieldy was just laughing and smiling at it as it floated towards the stage. Finally somebody grabbed it. The nice thing about this show was that the ceiling was high enough to have the dolls and had fire that actually shot up, not the normal small ones along the edge. All of the band members wore the same outfits as the last time I had seen them. But Jonathan wore the cloak, then switched into a black kilt with a red stripe, then into his black jumpsuit with a red stripe. It was pretty cool looking. The amazing thing about getting that close is how the band members make eyecontact with you. Fieldy and Jonathan both looked right at me for awhile. And Head shook his head right at me when we were going crazy. I give this Korn show a 10 out of 10, just like all the Korn shows. I can't wait until the new album comes out and then hit another tour. Until then, peace. Corey
